Why naturally dried? Choices. When mosses and lichens are naturally dried they do not die but remain dormant for years. This means you can leave them dried and do nothing to them to keep their current look. If they are outside you can let the weather naturally dry and re hydrate them. You can keep them in a controlled environment anywhere between very wet to slightly moist depending on your preferences.
Preserved mosses and lichens are dead and will only keep the current color and look.
All of our single piece beards and mats are irregular shapes because that is how they grow in nature.

Our Moss Wall 1- Organize moss and lichens on your chosen backing, we used a 4' x 4' pallet. 2- Glue moss to backing sections at a time with live moss safe adhesive. 3- Add lichen and small moss tufts to cover any unwanted gaps. The backing does not have to be completely covered as the moss will grow over any uncovered areas. 5- Water, misting is best. If you live in an area like the Pacific Northwest in the fall you can leave it out over night and the moss will soak up the moisture in the air. 7- Watch your moss wall come to life and change colors. Unnatural colors? Yes, we dyed some live moss about 7 months ago and the orange, red, blue and purple still look great!
